School Excursions

Our school excursions are a great way to challenge your students with fun, interactive and meaningful learning experiences. Research has shown that students best memories of their schooling days were actually when they were not at school. The reason behind this is that they are able to step outside of their usual routine and therefore are more open to engaging in new experiences. All our programs have been created and mapped to meet the current Australian Curriculum year level standards.

Rest assured our excursions are planned specifically to bring new understandings and personal growth for your students.

Character Builders Kokoda

Kokoda offers a great insight towards seeing both sides of any story. Based on true accounts from x-diggers (both Australian and Japanese) your team is sure to embrace the spirit needed to build a team. Look no further than this guaranteed day of Australian history, adventure, problem solving, co-operation and more as your students set up base camp, recon missions in the bush, prepare a BBQ lunch and tackle obstacles. Teachers love to come on this day as they witness students stepping up to challenges that are sometimes not so available in the confines of the school grounds.

  • Recognising the legacy left by past ancestors during World War II.
  • Engaging in challenging experiences set to build resilience, endurance and persistence.
  • Developing leadership through increasing confidence, self-esteem and respect when working in teams.
  • Embracing the concepts of forgiveness and sacrifice through identifying with different perspective.

We again had the pleasure of Character Builders leading our class group of Year 6 students on the Kokoda Challenge at Mt Coo-tha. The students were fully engaged in the activities throughout the day as they were challenged to develop and demonstrate team work and leadership while experiencing some of what it may have been like for the Australian soldiers in PNG during the Kokoda campaign in WWII.
Highlights of the day were the team challenges on the climb up the Kokoda track, stretcher bearing, team games, the students making their own BBQ lunch and the stories of Kokoda. Each of these activities stretched the students to move out of their comfort zones, recognise the strength within themselves and operate from the perspective of team rather than self.
As always, an amazing experience under the guidance of highly professional staff that we will be booking again for our future Year 6 groups.”
